Ralph Lee Zopfi
Age 88, of Marshfield, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 At Serenity House in Marshfield.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 4PM until 7PM for a time of sharing memories and celebrating Ralph’s life. A military service conducted by American Legion Post 175 of Loyal will take place at the funeral home at 5:30PM. His family members will conduct a private committal service at a later date.
Ralph was born March 11, 1931 in the Town of McMillan, Marathon County, the son of George and Anna (Budahn) Zopfi. He served in the United States Armed Forces stationed at Camp Roberts in California. He was united in marriage to Margaret M. Knebel on December 22, 1951 in Marshfield. Sadly, Margaret passed away on June 25, 2016. Ralph hauled milk, logged, was an over the road trucker, worked for Trierweiler Construction and I Brandl Inc both located in Marshfield.
He boxed in Golden Gloves Tournaments, played baseball, stock car racing, horse pulling, an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors are his four children: Evelyn Krall of Onalaska, Gary (Holly) Zopfi of Marshfield, Roger (Wendy) Zopfi of Marshfield, Eugene (Kelly) Zopfi of Marshfield; his four grandsons: Scott (Patty) Krall, Brandon (Rachael McDonald) Zopfi, Christopher (Heather) Zopfi, Mitchell Zopfi; his five granddaughters: Tanya (Ernie) Duerr, Sarah (Matt) Franklin, Holly (Dane Anderson) Zopfi, Samantha (Ben) Will and Megan Zopfi; 16 great grandchildren: Alayna and Emma Goetzinger, Cassandra Zopfi, Maggie Weber, Tate Kanneberg, Brady Duerr, Payton, Brett, Presley and Parker Franklin, Brecken, Bryson and Boden Anderson, Ryan and Gracie Will and Sophia Zopfi and one great great grandchild Wyatt Weber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son and twin daughters all in infancy, one sister in infancy, a son-in-law Marvin Krall, his brothers and sisters-in-law; Randall (Virgina) Budahn, Kermit (Gleneale) Zopfi, Sister Virgean (Ted) Oelrich, Howard (Mary) Zopfi and Richard (Ethel) Weinfurter.
Family will designate memorial at a later date.
