Karen, Ronnie, Gwen and Trude:
Sending our Deepest Sympathies from the Wanke Family.
I have so many warm memories of Aunt Jeanette. Always hosting others.
I recall the summer days at Sacketts Lake, running under the pines, swimming off the dock, learning to ski. Having so much fun outside knowing that as soon as anyone was hungry, Aunt Jeanette was prepared inside with delicious treats and drinks for everyone.
I recall holidays in Dorchester with kids running all over the basement, Uncle John stoking the wood stove in the basement utility room and Aunt Jeanette again prepping a wonderful holiday meal, more than enough for all .... and don't forget the "snack" (second meal) served before heading back home.
And no one could fill the room with laughter or match Aunt Jeanette's quick wit. I recall the aunts and uncles around the sheepshead table, telling stories and laughing; the men-folk usually opining that there should be more focus on the sheepshead game ... there were nickels at stake!
All of us miss her, but all of us take comfort is that she is now in heaven, back together with Uncle John, once again hosting others and playing a few hands of sheepshead.
God Bless;
Russ, Jennifer, Tyler and Casidy Wanke

I loved Jeanette's spirit. I was her caregiver for about 8 months. She was very funny and told great stories! She had a lot of spunk and sure was spry for her age! I will miss her laugh and smile. I was impressed at her strong Catholic faith. My sympathies to her family. I was able to meet Karen, Gwen and Ron. Such a great family :)
