In Loving Memory
Wendi Christine Shadis, 70, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed from this life into eternal life to dwell with our savior Jesus. Wendi passed peacefully on May 31, 2020, while surrounded by her family.
Wendi was born on December 18, 1949 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Albert and Esther (Jamison) Shadis. Wendi was a kind, caring and loving woman whose generosity to others was never-ending. Wendi loved spending time with her family and close friends, being outdoors, playing games and was always up for a laugh. Wendi was a loving mother to five children and grandmother to nine grandchildren. Most importantly, Wendi was a strong believer in Jesus and the way she lived her life was a testimony to that.
Wendi is survived by her children, Roxanne Gruenwald, Esther Kroeplin, Jay Kroeplin and his wife, Monica, five grandchildren, Noah, Jacey, Ellie, Kaden and Isaiah; Nathan Kroeplin and his wife, Kara, two grandchildren, Makenna and Connor; and Katrina Kroeplin, two grandchildren, Mya and Fallon. Brother, Albert Shadis Jr., sister, Carol Carter and husband Alden, Brother, David Shadis and wife Terry, Brother, Daniel Shadis, Sister, Cinda Tollefson and husband Tim, and Brother, Dale Shadis and wife Melody, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Wendi was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Esther and sister-in-law, Janet Shadis, and sister-in-law, Tammy Shadis.
Our family wants to thank all of the staff at St. Croix Hospice (especially Jill, Megan and Kelly) for all of their care and support while they helped our family through this difficult time.
We will miss you Wendi, Mom, Grandma and Friend but we know we will see you again!
A Celebration of Life will be held by family at a later date.
“Unfortunately, due to concerns with COVID-19 our family has decided to postpone the celebration of life for Wendi Shadis. This was a difficult decision to make as we want to honor Wendi, however we felt like it was the responsible thing to do at this point to keep one another safe. As we watch to see how the COVID-19 situation evolves throughout the summer we will make a decision on when to hold the celebration at that point. We will do our best to get the word out as soon as possible so people can plan to attend. I know Wendi would love to have many family and friends attend to be able to celebrate, socialize and enjoy one another’s company. Thanks for understanding.
