Elroy E. Huber,
Age 85, of Spencer, passed away early in the morning on Friday, July 11,2014 at House of The Dove in Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer with Rev. David DePaoli officiating. Committal services will follow in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman. Visitation will take place on Monday at the church in Spencer from 10:30AM until time of service.
Elroy was born August 9, 1928 in Spencer the son of Edward and Adela (Hoops) Huber. He graduated from Spencer High School and was Valedictorian for the Class of 1947. He married the former Harriet Bever on May 13, 1950 in parsonage at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. She survives. Elroy was employed as a procurement manager at Land O Lakes formerly known as Dairy Belt located in Spencer.
He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Spencer, a 25 year long member of the Spencer School Board and a board member of the CESA 6.
For those that knew him, Elroy had a wonderful sense of humor enjoyed by family and friends alike. During deer hunting season, his boys remember Dad saying, "Yea I could go for a sandwich"!
Dad's life was centered around the love of his beautiful wife and together they enjoyed camping trips, gardening, fishing family cookouts, playing cards. music, traveling out West and to Europe. In later years, spending quiet days on their back porch putting jigsaw puzzles together and reading. His kindness and helping hand will be missed.
Survivors include his wife Harriet of Marshfield; his children: Diane (David) Bushman of Marshfield, Randy (Linda) Huber of Janesville, Vicky (David Manthey) Huber of Arpin, Larry Huber of Stevens Point, Steve (Kay Gorecki) Huber of Marshfield, Tom (Mary Ellen) Huber of Spencer; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law Phyllis Huber; one brother David Huber; three brother-in-laws: Arnie Bever, Ray Devine and Ray Robinson; two sister-in-laws: Margie Fessler and Ellen Huber.
