Obituary of Louise Joanne Bauer
Louise J. Bauer
Age 88, of Neillsville, formerly Loyal, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Riverside Assisted Living in Neillsville under the care of Compassus Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 30, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal will Rev. Leo Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church in Loyal on Friday from 9 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to: Eric, Blake and Kurt Bauer, PJ Rueth, Matt Davel and Glenn Rucker.
Louise was born on February 18, 1933 in Neillsville; the daughter of Edwin and Margaret (Weber) Gall. She was united in marriage to Harvey Bauer on May 29, 1952 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Sadly, he passed away on September 2, 2015. Together, they farmed and raised their family near Loyal. She was employed at Redville Dairy in Greenwood, the former Mid-Am in Willard as well as at Greenwood IGA; she also waitressed at various restaurants in the area and did housecleaning.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal.
Her hobbies included tending to her flower gardens and cutting her large lawn with the push mower and not with the rider.
Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Thomas “Butch” (Mary) Bauer, John (Marilyn) Bauer, Edwin (Rhonda) Bauer and Vickie (Brian) Bauer-Johnston, all of Loyal; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters: Jean Wirkuty of Loyal, Theresa Bennett of Neillsville and Marie Vetrano of Milwaukee and three brothers: Arthur (Dorothy) Gall of Milwaukee, Thomas (Kathy) Gall of Milwaukee and James (Mary Ann) Gall of Neillsville along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Margaret; her husband, Harvey; a brother, Elmer and three sisters: Dorothy Gall, Vi Marshall and Alice Wirkuty along with several sisters and brothers-in-law.
