Obituary of Don Lee McCauley

Age 69, of Marshfield, passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and to celebrate Don’s life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 3 PM until 7 PM. All are welcome.

Don was born on July 8, 1952 in Eugene, Oregon; the son of Donald H. and Lois (Swanson) McCauley. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High where he met the love of his life, Janet Lahr. They were united in marriage on July 3, 1971 in Marshfield. Don was employed as a production manager at a mobile home manufacturing company.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge; the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association and was the secretary at the Spencer Sportsmen’s Club.

Don was an avid outdoorsman that loved to go bear hunting and deer hunting, fishing and camping. He and Janet maintained a permanent campsite at Lake Holcombe for 26 years. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those that will cherish his memory are his wife, Janet; his daughter, Stacey (Tom) Strebe of Spencer; his sons, Nicholas (Ashley) McCauley of Marshfield and Ryan (Lauren) McCauley of Stratford and his six grandchildren, Zachary, Bradley, Sophia, Grayson, Jase and Jaxon. Don is further survived by his mother, Lois McCauley and his siblings, Randy (Cindy) McCauley of Marinette, Lori (Dave) Klumb of River Falls, Ricky (Karen) McCauley of Stratford and Doug (Celeste) McCauley of Palo Pinto, TX along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his father Donald as well as his many beloved hunting dogs.
