Obituary of Jay Allen Koenig

Jay Allen Koenig, age 54, of the town of Spencer, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Spencer. The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home in Spencer.
Jay was born January 21, 1957 in Sioux City, Iowa, son of the late Melvin and Eve (Parmelee) Koenig. He attended Marshfield Junior High and later graduated from Marshfield Senior High. He married the former Linette Dupuis on May 19, 1979 in Mosinee. They later divorced. Jay worked at various jobs in the Marshfield area including the Donnelley Corporation, All Car Automotive , Modern Woodsman Insurance Agency and Figi’s Data Center. He later turned his attention to his cars. His passion was fixing, rebuilding, restoring any and all types of cars especially Chevys. His son Steven recalls great times hunting and fishing with his dad and the family loved the camping trips they all took together. In his spare time Jay loved to catch a NASCAR race on Sunday afternoon.
Survivors include his three children: Jennifer (Jon) Luepke of Spencer; Benjamin (Tamami Seki) Koenig of Japan and Steven (Michelle Johnson) of Spencer; his three grandchildren: Hunter, Emma and Carter Luepke all of Spencer; one brother Mark Koenig of Rockford, IL and his trusted companion, his dog:“Pepper”; along with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
