I am so lucky to have met and become friends with Rollie. I got to know Rollie through the Spencer Library, when he and Marlene would come in. Marlene would look for books and Rollie and I would "BS" with each other.
Rollie became friends with my husband and took the time to come to our house when my husband had a knee replaced a few years ago. Rollie was the heart of our Cribbage Club at the library, and claimed to "never have lost". Well, I did catch him trying to throw the game by bribing his worthy opponents with candy! We say Rollie at Chili Corners on November 19th, and had another quick laugh with him. Rollie had the best laugh! So full of life.
The last time we saw Rollie was about 6 -8 weeks ago. He drove into our yard in Rozellville with the window rolled down and yelled to me, "Where is Ray?" I asked why he didn't want to visit with me and he replied, "I can see you any damn time, all I have to do is go into the library, but I don't get to see Ray". They had a great visit as they always ended up talking about cooking maple syrup. Ray and I were truly blessed to have Rollie in our life and we will both miss him. God's Speed my friend!
