Martha “Marti” R. Heil-Chubb

Age 69, of Unity, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 31, 2021 at her home in Unity under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 12Noon on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran ELCA in Unity with Rev. Amy Heinz officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at the church from 9:30AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Andy Lemanski, Anthony Lemanski, Devin Lemanski, Alex Lemanski, Danielle Lemanski and Dana Bruss.

Marti was born on August 29, 1952 in Wausau; the daughter of Walter and Rita (Wegener) Heil. She attended Marathon High School and received her Bachelor of Cosmetology Degree at Wausau Cosmetology School. She worked hard managing a retail store. On August 14, 2010, she was united in marriage to Jerry E. Chubb in Granton, Wisconsin.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran ELCA in Unity. She was a highly active member of the church community and a member of the church choir.

Marti enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to entertain and cook for friends. She was very skilled in the garden tending to her flowers. Marti enjoyed spending time with her favorite animals on long walks and listening to music. She spent a lot of time at the cabin, enjoying the company and campfires with family and friends. She loved to go kayaking and taking road trips to explore new adventures in Wisconsin to wineries and waterfalls with family and friends to enjoy nature’s beauty. She was very talented in woodworking and seasonal decorating.

Those who will cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jerry of Unity; her son, Paul (Stacy) Knetter of Dorchester; her step son, Jerry James Chubb of Stevens Point; her grandsons, Bradley (Brittany) Knetter and Michael (Danielle) Knetter, both of Eau Claire; her step grandsons, Tyler (Nikki) Hoernke of Eau Claire and Jake (Lindsey) Hoernke of Spencer; her step granddaughter, Kisa A. Chubb of Stevens Point; her great-grandson, Easton Knetter; her future great-grandson Baby Hoernke arriving in February 2022 and her future great-granddaughter Baby Knetter arriving in April 2022; siblings, Louis (Gloria) Heil, Sister Carolyn FSPA, Sister Roselyn FSPA, Joan (Jim) Juedes, Maureen (Tom) Knetter, William (Patty) Heil, Lucy (Joe) Schroeder, Anthony (Judy) Heil, Donna (Rick) Kuhn and Paulette (David) Lemanski; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wesenberg, Marjie (Dale) Buckner, Nancy (Tom) Dahlen, Doris Fischer, Sally (Terry) Schar, Deb (Jim) Rakovec and Jane (Mike) Reigel along with many special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rita Heil; her sister, Cathy and her brothers-in-law, Arnold Wesenberg and Joseph Fischer.
