Obituary of Diane Marie Peterson

Diane M. Peterson, age 65, of Marshfield, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at her residence in Marshfield.

To honor Diane’s wish, a memorial service will be celebrated privately at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. She will be laid to rest with her parents in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Bill Hoes, Shawn Bauer, Dale Jacobitz and Dan Jacobitz.

Diane was born on July 24, 1956 in Marshfield to Warren and Hazel (Raymond) Jacobitz. She graduated from Spencer High School and received her associate degree in law enforcement from Mid-State Technical College. She worked as a police officer in Spencer and Rib Lake for many years. On August 14, 1999, she was united in marriage to Gerald Peterson in Spencer. They enjoyed 22 years together.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spencer.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts, painting saw blades and lawn ornaments and quilting. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, camping up in Northern Wisconsin, Michigan and rock hounding at Lake Superior. She enjoyed her time in the kitchen baking delicious desserts and goodies for the family.

Those who will cherish her memory include her loving husband, Gerald Peterson; her daughter, Nicole Jacobitz of Rochester, MN; her brothers, Frank (Diana) Jacobitz of Spencer, Dave Jacobitz of Madison, Dan (Marylee) Jacobitz of Hewitt, Neil (Lori) Jacobitz of Wisconsin Rapids and Dale (Amy) Jacobitz of Spencer; her nieces and nephew along with many other relatives and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Hazel Jacobitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by Diane’s family for a charity to be determined.
