Obituary of Virginia Rose Daniel
Virginia R. “Ginnie” Daniel, age 94, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Three Oaks Health Services in Marshfield under hospice care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. She will be laid to rest in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday for a time of visitation from 10:30 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to: Jerry Hamilton, Jr, Joshua Oettiker, Ryan Oettiker, MacKenzie Devitt, Erik Brandner, Benjamin Daniel, Nicholas Daniel, Jacob Daniel, Jimmy Daniel, and Shawn Miller.
Virginia was born to Harold and Rose (Gessert) Parks in Marshfield on March 26, 1928. After graduating from Marshfield Senior High, Ginnie worked at the former Adler Movie Theater and at the shoe factory both located in Marshfield. She was united in marriage to Ralph Morel on June 10, 1951, who passed away on June 23, 1952. She was later united in marriage to Eugene Daniel on November 7, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Sadly, he passed away January 23, 2015. Virginia retired from the Marshfield Clinic as a medical assistant after 30+ years of dedicated services.
Along with being a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church for many years, Ginnie also possessed a strong and unwavering faith in her Lord.
Virginia enjoyed traveling and camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to read a good book or perhaps knit a beautiful piece for family and friends. She had fun going bowling and even tried a few golf lessons. She was a member of card clubs and enjoyed singing.
Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Linda (Leland) Smith of Martin, TN, David (Marion) Daniel of Marshfield and James (Frances) Daniel of Marshfield; her grandchildren: Anna (Jerry) Hamilton, Jr, Joshua (Liz) Oettiker, Ryan (Angela) Oettiker, Stephanie (MacKenzie) Devitt, Erik (Tiffany) Brandner, Benjamin (Christie) Daniel, Nicholas Daniel, Raechel Daniel, Jacob (Ashton) Daniel, Jimmy (Tayelor) Daniel and Kendra (Shawn) Miller; 19 great-grandchildren; former son-in-law, Thomas Oettiker; son-in-law, Patrick Brandner and brother-in-law, Gordon Daniel of Fond du lac along with many other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rose Parks; her first husband, Ralph Morel; her second husband, Eugene Daniel; her daughter, Barbara Brandner; her granddaughter, Nicole and her great-grandson, Samuel.
If desired, her family is accepting memorials in her name for a charity yet to be determined.
