Grandpa Joe was just my person. When I was younger than my son now I couldn't stand people. I would bite, scratch, kick, hit... anything I could do to make people leave me alone. The first time I met Grandpa Joe, he walked by me and I reached out my little hand to try to get his attention. I kept calling his name to come and get me. He scooped me up, gave me a buttermint from his pocket and i refused to let him go after that. I cried so hard when Grandma and Grandpa left that day. I just loved him. I couldn't get enough snuggles. He'd scoop me up every time, give me the best hug in the world, sneak me a buttermint with a wink and a smile like we were sharing a secret. It was our thing. I always felt like Grandpa Joe's hugs could fix everything that made me sad. I wish I could get just one more hug from him and feel like it will all be okay. I love you very much Grandpa Joe and I'll need your help in keeping an eye on Little Joe since he's a lot like his mama.
