Anne Kay 1932-2023
Age 90, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at The Serenity Living Center in Marshfield with care provided by ProMedica Hospice of Stevens Point.
To honor their mother’s wishes, Anne’s family will gather at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield to hold a private committal service.
Anne was born to Mathais and Theresa (Hoffman) Kohler on September 12, 1932 in Menomonee Falls. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Kay on April 8, 1950, in Wakegan, Illinois. Sadly, he passed away in 1974. Together, they operated a dairy farm also working as a sales associate at the former H.C. Prange Department Store in Marshfield.
She enjoyed spending time reading a good book, having coffee with her daughter, going for car rides anywhere and everywhere or just spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time at the camper in Bancroft, WI and taking a ride to Weber’s Farm Store to get some of their most delicious ice cream. For Anne, her faith and her Lord were the anchor point for how she lived her life.
Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Sandy Sternweis, Pamela Kay, Keith (Mary) Kay, Cindy (Tim) Egger, Terese Kay and Frances (James) Daniel; her daughter-in-law, Theresa Kay; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Nancy Kay; two sons, Kenneth and Kurt Kay; a grandson, Richard Sternweis; two granddaughters, Nicole Daniel and Katie Kay.
If desired, her family is accepting memorials in Anne’s name for a charity yet to be determined.
Her family would also like to extend a huge thank you to the care staff at Serenity House in Marshfield and the nursing staff of ProMedica Hospice-Stevens Point.
