Obituary of Margie Marie Rank

Margie M. Rank 1931-2023

With family at her bedside, Margie M. Rank passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Tuesday morning, March 28, 2023 at House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Dan Thelen as the celebrant and Rev. Barry Saylor concelebrating. She will be laid to rest in Brooklawn Memory Gardens in the Town of Richfield. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the church from 4 PM until 6 PM and again on Monday at the church from 10 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to her grandsons, Shawn Freeman, Phillip Ashbeck, Jon Rank, Christopher Peterson, Matthew Peterson and Marcus Peterson.

Margie was born to Felix and Mary (Staeck) Cournoyer on August 27, 1931 in Marshfield. She attended school in the Marshfield area. On November 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert G. Rank at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hewitt. She was a wonderful homemaker and raised five children. She also worked at Figi’s and area dry cleaners, always enjoying being around people.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a dedicated member of the PCCW and was a longtime usher at St. John’s.

Margie enjoyed spending her time gardening and taking great care with her flowers and yard décor. She liked to go dancing and playing cards with friends at her “Hen Parties”. She spent precious time with family being very active in her grandchildren’s lives. She loved to share family history and having breakfast monthly with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed bird watching and traveling. Margie was an avid Brewer and Packer fan.

Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Sheila (Jeff) Nyberg of Marshfield, Connie (Randy) Koehler of Schofield, Michael Rank of Marshfield and Pamela (Ray) Housworth of Marshfield; her grandchildren: Phillip Ashbeck, Caryn Ashbeck, Monica Nyberg, Jon (Kara) Rank, Christopher Peterson, Kathryn (Coy) Ruzic, Matthew Peterson, Marcus Peterson, Shawn (Meg) Freeman and Brooke (Clint) Smith; her great-grandchildren: Jackson and Benny Freeman, Hayly and Lauryn Smith, Olivia Steiner, Peyton, Kyden and Dawson Rank and Kara, Brennen, Chase, Bella and Tess Peterson and her great great-grandchild, Jace Peterson. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Campollo of Sturtevant, Delores Peterson of Marshfield and Rose Lynn Rank of Marshfield along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; her husband, Robert “Bud” Rank; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Freeman; her brothers, Dennis (Naomi) Cournoyer, Alfred (Verna) Cournoyer, Russell (Roseanne) Cournoyer and James Cournoyer in infancy; her sisters, Eileen (Marvin) Lahr and Ruth (John) Katzenberger and in-laws, Edward Rank, Jr, Bernice Haske and Leonard Rank.

If desired, memorials are being accepted in Margie’s name for a memorial yet to be determined.
