Obituary of Helen Julia Bartsch
Helen J. Bartsch, age 92, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Wells Nature View in Marshfield under the care of Well’s Staff and ProMedica Hospice.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Daniel Thelen officiating. Following the services, she will be laid to rest with her husband in the Veterans Field of Honor in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday for a time of visitation from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow. The honor of pallbearers belongs to her sons: Randall, Brian, Dennis, and Gary.
Helen was born on January 28, 1931, on the farm in Rozellville to the late Joseph and Bertha (Nikolai) Weber. On April 4, 1959, she was united in marriage to Everett “Bob” Bartsch at Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili. They lived in Milwaukee for a few years before moving to Marshfield. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and mother to her four boys.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield.
Those who will cherish her memory include her loving sons: Randall Bartsch of Yoder, Colorado, Brian (Holly) Bartsch of Marshfield, Dennis Bartsch of Loyal and Gary Bartsch of Granton; her grandson, Dillon DeVille of Yoder, Colorado and her four step-grandchildren: Cody, Aron, Jamie and Candice (Nick); her great-grandson and 12 step great-grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters: Mary Ann Bauer of Marshfield, Celia Sliwicki of Wausau, Julia Gebhart of Wausau and Rita Binder of Marshfield; one brother, Jerome (Jean) Weber of Rozellville and one sister-in-law, Viola Bartsch of LaCrosse along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bertha Weber; her husband, Everett “Bob” Bartsch; five sisters: Louise Paul, Margaret Weber, Dorothy Weber, Bernadette Weber and Theresa Van Der Leest; three brothers, Joseph Weber Jr., John Weber and Nicholas Weber; brothers-in-law, David Van der Leest, Bernard Bauer, John Sacho, Dick Gebhardt, Chuck Paul, Tom Binder, Ben Sliwicki and sister-in-law, Arlene Weber. Also three brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Marlin (Evelyn) Bartsch, Harlan (Darlene) Bartsch, and Delmer Bartsch.
Helen will be remembered for her love of her children who are very precious to her. Her deep commitment to the church and also her love of birds she loved to watch from her kitchen window.
