Abraham “Abe” J. Theys, Jr. 1945-2023

Age 77, of Pittsville, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his daughter’s home in the Town of McMillan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Pastor Heather Brown officiating. Burial will take place in Mosinee Public Cemetery following the services. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church in Marshfield on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to: Rollie Hagen, Roger Hansen, Lee Accola, David Swenson and Cody Bauer. Honorary pallbearer will be his great-grandson, Carter Bauer.

Abe was born on December 4, 1945 in the Town of Luxemburg, WI. the son of Abraham and Adele (Vandervest) Theys. He graduated from Casco High School. He then attended Milwaukee School of Psychology as well as Mid-State Technical College. On June 12, 1967, he was united in marriage to Katherine Cartwright in Mosinee. Sadly, she passed away on July 30, 2005. He was a dedicated farmer and herdsman.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

His hobbies included: fishing, camping and doing just about anything with family. Abe stated that “he tended to be a bit of a workaholic at times”.

Those who will cherish his memory include his daughters, Lynnette Mitchell of Wisconsin Rapids and Lorrie (Rodney) Bauer of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Marita Mitchell, Miranda (Ryan) Desko, Cody (Carlie Schreiner) Bauer and Alysha Bauer; his great-grandson, Carter Bauer and his brothers, Clemmie (Mary Ann) Theys, Joseph Theys and Francis (Ruth) Theys, all of Green Bay along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Adele; his wife, Katherine; six sisters, Dora, Laura, Marie, Cecilia, Angeline and Agnes and three brothers, Harold, Raymond and Edward.

If desired, memorials in Abe’s name are being accepted by his family for a charity yet to be determined.
