Nancy Ann Volhard
Age 74, of Wausau formerly of Marathon passed away at her residence on Monday evening, October 13, 2014 surrounded by her family.
In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, private family services were held on October 18, 2014.
Nancy was born on July 4, 1940 in Wausau to Delbert and Dorothy (Kurtzweil) Rasmussen. She attended St. John’s Parochial School in Edgar later graduating from Edgar High School. On July 9, 1960 she married Donald Volhard at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. He survives.
Nancy’s whole life was dedicated to her husband and family. Her hobbies included both needlepoint and crocheting, playing against “lady luck” in Las Vegas and spending time spoiling her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Donald of Wausau; five children: Laura (David) Knoeck of Marathon, Linda (Courtney) Untiedt of Edgar, Sandra Volhard of Wausau, Jennifer (Todd) Schiffmacher of Grand Island, NY and Richard Volhard of Appleton; eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter; three siblings: Roger (Jean) Rasmussen of Marathon, Joanne(Roger) Heil of Marathon and Russell (Brenda) Rasmussen of Merrill. She is further survived by her companion cat “Morris” along with other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary.
