Obituary of Roger Kenneth LaSee
Roger K. LaSee 1938-2023
Roger LaSee, formerly of Stratford, Wisconsin and East Peoria, Illinois, passed away at the age of 85 on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer, WI with Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in the Town of Eau Pleine, WI with full military honors conducted by Stratford VFW Post 6352. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 AM until time of service.
Roger was born on May 1, 1938, in Stratford to Harold and Verna (Krauter). He graduated from Stratford High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Navy. After farming for a few years, he was recruited to move to Peoria, Illinois to work for Caterpillar Tractor as a lathe operator, testing and certifying transmissions.
He was married twice and had 2 children but was later divorced.
He was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford and a former member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria, IL.
After retiring from Caterpillar, he returned to the Marshfield area.
In retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Canada, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, and Minnesota. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his house plants, flying RC planes, and collecting coins and stamps. Roger volunteered at the Marshfield Senior Community Center for many years.
He is lovingly survived by his son, Jeffery (Lorene Wiles) LaSee of East Peoria, IL and his daughter, Angela (Eric) Seaberg of Eagan, MN; his grandchildren: Adam LaSee of East Peoria, IL and Chloe and Nicholas Seaberg of Eagan, MN; his siblings, James LaSee of Stratford, Carol (Al) Bauer of Spencer, Joan (Tom) Zygarlicke of Marshfield and Helen (Jim) Losleben of Mendota Heights, MN; his sister-in-law, Barb LaSee of New Berlin, WI; 23 nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Verna LaSee; his sister, Janet Courtney and his brothers, Gilbert and Jerry LaSee.
