Obituary of Mary Ann Endreas

Mary Ann Endreas, a longtime resident of Spencer, joined her heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, just moments before her 92nd birthday while in the company of her loving family at House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer with Rev. Barry Saylor officiating. Private committal services for Mary in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman will be held at a later time. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Tuesday for a time of visitation from 9 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to her grandsons.

Mary Ann was born on January 3, 1932, in Unity to A.E. “Brownie” and Agnes (Sauter) Messer. She was a graduate of Spencer High School. After graduation, she attended the Gale Institute in Minneapolis, MN. On September 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert Endreas at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Sadly, he passed away on December 20, 2020. They had celebrated their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries with family and friends. She worked in production at Land O’ Lakes in Spencer for 22 years until her retirement in 1993.

She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer also its Parish Council of Catholic Woman and a member of the church choir. Mary devoted countless hours as a Sacristan for the church and also cleaned the church rectory.

Her hobbies included reading Danielle Steele novels being one of her favorite authors along with other collections, baking delicious treats for her family, playing Sheepshead with her friends and on occasion trying her luck at the local casino.

Those who will cherish her memory include her children, Nancy Kautza, Steven Endreas, Sue (Randy) Cournoyer, Cheryl (Phil) White, Julie (Ted) Steines and Mike (Bev) Endreas; her grandchildren, Adam Kautza, Ben (Jenna) Kautza, Chris (Kelly) Endreas, Corey Endreas, Curt Endreas, Ryan (Amy) Cournoyer, Sarah (Kip) Lang, Nick (Laurel) White, Stephanie (Korey) Rottscheit, Emma (Jake) Puzio, Cody (friend, Clancy Jo) Steines, Alicia (Kaleb) Herman, Liz (Wyatt) Bauer and Zachary Endreas; her great grandchildren, Haley, Ayden, Carson, Bryson, Marisa, Camden, Ava, Trenton, Colin, Lily, Jazlyn, Addilyn, Easton, Karley, Olivia, Owen, Rowan and Baby Bauer; her sister, Audrey Meyer of Marshfield and her sister-in-law, Donna Messer of Beloit along with many other relatives and friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, A. E. “Brownie” and Agnes Messer; her husband, Bob Endreas; her son, Phillip Endreas; her son-in-law, Bill Kautza; her brother, Ernest Messer; her brothers-in-law, Herbert Meyer and Clarence Endreas; her sisters-in-law, Christina (Frank) Moslavac and Monica (Mark) Gennett and her in-laws, Joseph and Emma Endreas.

The Endreas Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at House of the Dove for the care and comfort shown to their mother, Mary Ann.

If desired, memorials in Mary Ann’s name are being accepted to Christ the King Catholic Church and The King’s Food Pantry, both in Spencer or to House of the Dove in Marshfield.
