Clarence L. “Bud” Nyberg
Age 83, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield.
In accordance with Bud’s wishes, his family will conduct private services at a later date.
Clarence was born November 23, 1930 in Glidden, WI, the son of Clarence and Myra (Taylor) Nyberg. His family moved to Ashland, WI where Bud attended and graduated from Ashland High School in 1948. His education continued at Northland College, he graduated from there in 1952. Bud served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a 1st Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1954. Two years later Bud married the love of his life, Isabel Clara Iverson on September 22, 1956. She survives. They moved to Hurley in 1957. Bud’s career in finance management lasted for over 33 years until retiring in 1990. He and the family moved to Spencer in October of 1999 and resided there since.
His interests and activities included being a Hurley Lions Club member for 40 years, a 4 year member of the executive committee of the Hurley Boy Scout Club of America, a founding member and chairman of Southgate Committee in Hurley and a past member of Marshfield Elk’s Lodge 665.
Hobbies included golfing, gardening, woodworking, both downhill and cross country skiing. He especially enjoyed spending winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Survivors include his wife Isabel C. Nyberg of Marshfield, his son Jeffrey (Sheila) Nyberg of Marshfield; his grandchildren: Monica (Matt Steiner) Nyberg; two step grandchildren: Caryn and Phillip Ashbeck and one great granddaughter Olivia Steiner along with other relatives and many friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: James and Robert Nyberg.
