Edwin J. "Eddie" Bauer
Age 84, of Marshfield, passed away early in the morning on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at House of The Dove in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11AM on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Father Savari will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday at the church in Marshfield from 9AM until time of services. Following the burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield, a dinner will be served at Knights of Columbus Hall where family and friends will continue Eddie’s Celebration of Life. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Eddie’s grandsons.
Eddie was born December 19, 1929 in Auburndale to George and Martha (Braunsky) Bauer. He attended Pleasant Hill grade school and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1947. Eddie met the love of his life Maurine Wilhelm at a grainery dance and was united in marriage on August 30, 1950. Eddie owned and operated Bauer Heating and Air Conditioning in Neillsville and retired as the maintenance engineer and department head for the Clark County Court House and Jail Facility.
His greatest achievement in life was his wife and family which he adored and loved . His greatest passion in life was The Land which he enjoyed with his family.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield and served as an extra ordinary minister at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Eddie was a member of the Marshfield Knights of Columbus, a founding member of the Neillsville Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Neillsville Men’s Club. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping and being anywhere in the woods.
Survivors include his wife Maurine Bauer of Marshfield; his two sons: Michael (Shelley) Bauer of Eau Claire and Patrick (Vicki) Bauer of Walker, MN; two daughters: Nancy Oldham of Black River Falls and Susan (Kenneth) Ludlum of Belmont. Eddie is further survived by his 11 grandchildren Michael (Amy) Bauer, Jr, Christina (Chris) Ring;, Amanda (fiancé Mike Kroening) Petrack, Patrick (special friend Nadia) Bauer II, Tiffani (Cade) Bednarski, Christopher (special friend Kathryn) Oldham, Curtis (Alyssa) Oldham, Sheila (Mark) Toensing, Seth (Pam) Ziegler, Kimberly (fiancé Zack McLinn) Ludlum and Kyle (special friend Morgan) Ludlum; eight great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister-in-law Lucille Bauer; son-in-law Wayne Ziegler along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sandra Ziegler; his siblings: Margaret, George, Walter, Mary, Katherine, Sylvester, Ray, Pauline and one child in infancy.
Memorials in Eddie's name are being accepted by his family to House of The Dove in Marshfield or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Boiler Fund.
