Mary Judith (nee Neidlein) Link
Age 73, of Marshfield passed away from heart failure on Saturday, December 20, 2014 with her loving family by her side at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Rev. Savarimuthu Selvaraj will officiate. Family will receive relative and friends on Tuesday at the church from 9:30AM until time of services. A private committal will take place at a later date.
Mary was born on July 20, 1941 in Spencer, the daughter of Ted and Armella (Straub) Neidlein. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1959. Mary worked in Marshfield at Pritzel Hardware and later Hub City Trucking, where she met the love of her life. Mary and Ray Link were married on October 14, 1961 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer. While Mary and Ray were raising their two children, they shared their home and love with foster children for several years. Later, Mary worked for Marshfield Elementary Public School System for 30 plus years, first as a secretary at Washington, Nasonville and East Fremont Schools and then as librarian at Lincoln Elementary School until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed many hobbies including reading and crocheting, she loved watching football, going deer hunting with family, motorcycle riding and enjoying adventures in the great outdoors at the family cabins at Pier Lake and Willow Lake area. She always had at least one pet to love at all times, currently her cat, Tom enjoyed her affection.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Raymond James Link, their son Scott (Heidi) Link of Marshfield and daughter Sandy (Chris Gagliano) Weber of Marshfield and her two sons Alex “A.J.” (Megan Punzenberger) Derfus, Weston and Max Weber of Marshfield. Mary is further survived by three brothers Jack Neidlein of Tripoli, Thomas Neidlein of Rhinelander and Las Vegas and Dick (Beeks) Neidlein of Spencer, one sister Barb (Darwin) Tysver of Chili; two brothers in law Milton (Lela) Link and Edgar (Vera) Link; five sisters in law Rita Neidlein, Judy Kidder, Christine Neidlein, Lauralee Lenz and Florence (Anthony) Hastreiter; along with many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Neidlein; her sister in law Karen Ruth Neidlein; a brother-in-law Jerold Lenz and her brother and sister-in-law Jiggs and Betty Link.
Memorials to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter are being accepted on behalf of Mrs. Link.
