Vernon A. Piguet
Age 86, of Auburndale, passed away at his residence in the early morning hours on Thursday, January 23, 2014 surrounded by his wife and family.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30PM on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Community Bible Church in Stratford. Pastor Randy Vandeloo and Pastor Edward Riddick will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday at the church in Stratford from 1:30PM until time of services. Committal services will be held at 10AM on Monday at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Vernon’s grandchildren will serve as his pallbearers.
Vernon was born June 9, 1927 in Lansing, Iowa to Harrison and Ann (Young) Piguet. He attended Stratford Public School and later Marshfield High School. On June 14, 1952, Vernon took the hand of Margaret Cattanach and was united in marriage at the Bible Center in Marshfield. She survives. Vernon owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Green Valley until his retirement but he and his wife Margaret continued to reside in the township until the present.
Hobbies included watching basketball, playing games and shuffleboard with family and friends and riding his four-wheeler. Vernon was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting whitetail deer. He was both a charter member and former board member of Community Bible Church in Stratford.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Piguet of Auburndale, three daughters: Genevieve (William) Bean of Auburndale; Jacqueline (Steve) Bohman of Frisco, TX and Barbara (Shawn) Erickson of Hammond, WI; his grandchildren: Seth Bean, Jessica (Eric) Stuberg, Natalie Bohman, Elizabeth Bohman, Maxwell Erickson and Mason Erickson; his great grandchildren: Brecken, Roman and Kingston; other relatives and many friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, a son Roger, a brother Kenneth and three sisters and their spouses: Lola (Naman) Belknap, Maxine (Kermit) Noth and LaVeeda (Clayton) Dugger
Memorials in Vernon’s name are being accepted to Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, WI
