George L. Wald, 71 of Spencer formerly of Janesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. His family will hold a celebration of life on November 12, 2016 at 12 noon at Greenwood County Park North of Greenwood. George was born November 8, 1944 to Vernon and Veda Wald in Black River Falls. He attended Beloit Memorial School. George was united in marriage to Dianna Greenwood, she passed away in 1972. He was later united in marriage to LuAnne Holmes she passed away in 2010. George proudly served his country in the United States Marines as a Sergeant including three tours in Vietnam. After his retirement from the Marines his employment included the Janesville Sheriff’s Department, Beloit Corp and the Stop N Go. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and gun collecting. Survivors include his three children: Barbara (Jesus) Celis of Wisconsin, Tami (John) Peshek of Arizona and Michael (Mary) Wald of Wisconsin; his two stepchildren: Shawn (Lacey) Holmes and Candice Peterson both of Wisconsin. George is further survived by his grandchildren: Jacob Mueller, Erik Celis, Lukas (Jenifer) Celis, Alixandra Peshek, Megan Peshek, Cassie Peshek, Charles Wald, Forrest “Woody” Wald, Magdelene “Maggie” Wald, Gage, Mazie, Trent, Angelina, Kyle, Chance and Michaela Holmes and Ashley and Kelsey Peterson and his adopted grandsons: Alex Neuendorf, Jacob Lepka, Jereme Neuendank, Katie Fredericks and Andrew Mueller. George is preceded in death by his parents Veda and Vernon and his first and second wives Dianna and LuAnne.
