I thought I had posted earlier, but I haven't seen it printed. I was thinking a lot about shirley recently and thinking I really need to call her. So I had the time for a long chat, as our conversations were never short. When I dialed her number, I got this is not a working number or has been disconnected. A short time later, it appeared on my cell phone: Shirley Zettler, Obituary. I felt so bad I had not gotten back to her sooner. She was a dear sweet lady. We had many political discussion as we both thought alike. I got to know Shirley when I started taking home bound communion to her. During our discussions she found out I was in charge of our hospital program for parents whose baby died. She then told me about her pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage. She never was able to conceive again. I know it was a needed grief process that she had hidden away for years, but we were able to talk about it. She has donated a number of things for the Hospital TLC area in the cemetery and a beautiful hanging Angel chime at the site of the Memorial for families that have lost infants, that the Hannah Center has up at the cemetery. It was a way for her to show how important it is to acknowledge your baby, even in loss. A truly wonderful lady. I'll miss her and our long conversations.
