Obituary of Betty Jane Lang

Betty Jane Lang  6/8/1936 - 1/20/2022

Betty Jane Lang , 85, Milladore (formerly Sherry) passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Marshfield Health Services.

Betty Feenstra was born on June 8, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids to Oscar and Jane Feenstra of Sherry, WI.  Betty attended school in Sherry, WI and married James Lang on January 8, 1952 at the Saint Wenceslaus Church in Milladore; their marriage lasted 38 years until James passed away in December 1990.  Betty joined her husband to farm in the township of Sherry until James’ death, after which Betty moved to Milladore to continue work as a sanitation engineer, caretaker of her parents and volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul in Marshfield.  She also enjoyed making floral arrangements for the local cemeteries.  Betty was also an active member of the St. Wenceslaus church where she helped with groundskeeping and cemetery maintenance. Betty was a woman of strong faith as well as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and had many interests but most important in her life was family and her faith.

She was preceeded in death by her husband James, parents Oscar and Jane Feenstra, sister and brother-in-law Thelma and John Weissenbeck, mother-in-law Ludmilla Lang  and infant brother Oscar Jr.

Betty is survived by her children Larry (Cindy) Lang of Blenker, Dennis (Lois) Lang of Milladore, Jim (Amy) Lang of Junction City, Jerry Lang of Minneapolis, Chris (Michelle) Lang of Milladore, Pete (Michelle) Lang of Junction City and brother Ted (Karen) Feenstra of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Betty on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Sherry Town Hall (Anderton Park) from 12PM until 5PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Betty.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Marshfield Health Services and St. Croix Hospice for the support given to Betty as well as the family.
